Abstract
Este artículo tiene como objetivo identificar los espacios en los que se presenta la cooperación internacional formal en seguridad a partir del estudio de caso de las actividades que ha desarrollado Oficina de la Policía Europea (Europol) con las organizaciones internacionales, así como aportar evidencia de los resultados que este tipo de cooperación puede generar. Para ello se realizó un estudio longitudinal, de 1999 a 2016, descriptivo con análisis cualitativo alimentado con fuentes primarias documentales con el que se concluye que la cooperación estudiada se caracteriza por ser diferenciada, intensa, variada y operativa.
The purpose of this article is to describe the spaces in which formal international cooperation in security is produced. It is based on a case study on the activities developed by the European Police Office (Europol) with international organizations, providing evidence that demonstrates the results that this type of cooperation can generate. For this purpose, a descriptive longitudinal study was carried out, from 1999 to 2016, based mainly on qualitative analysis of primary documentary sources. The main conclusion is that this specific cooperation is characterized by being differentiated, intense, varied and operative.
