Los puertos nacionales: instalaciones estratégicas de México

Abstract

El manejo del concepto de seguridad y protección se ha convertido en una necesidad indispensable en el mundo actual que permea todos los ámbitos de la vida. A nivel internacional, se han identificado como amenazas más comunes y de mayor impacto, al terrorismo y a la delincuencia organizada transnacional, cuyo accionar puede poner en riesgo la estabilidad de cualquier país, con el daño colateral regional correspondiente. En este tenor, también se ha reconocido que la procuración de la seguridad entre países no puede hacerse aisladamente debido a la interconexión geográfica, comercial y política que existe en la esfera internacional. Para México, el posicionamiento geográfico y su inmediata vecindad con Estados Unidos de América (EE. UU.), representa una situación particular que no se equipara con ningún otro actor latinoamericano.

The use of the concept of security has become an indispensable necessity in the current world that permeates all areas of life. At the international level, terrorism and transnational organized crime have been identified as the most common and most impacting threats, whose actions may jeopardize the stability of any country, with the corresponding regional collateral damage. In this regard, it has also been recognized that the procurement of security between countries cannot be done in isolation due to the geographical, commercial and political interconnection that exists in the international sphere. For Mexico, the geographic positioning and its immediate proximity to the United States of America (USA) represents a particular situation that is not comparable with any other Latin American actor.
