Abstract
La seguridad, como problema social en México, ha crecido de manera exponencial posicionándose en la agenda política como una de las prioridades de la problemática nacional, constituyéndose como uno de los grandes temas a resolver debido al aumento de las actividades del crimen organizado las cuales han generado un clima de inseguridad generalizado en todo el país. La preocupación pública del fenómeno de la inseguridad tiene impacto en la imagen de las instituciones, la democracia y la gobernabilidad. La política de combate a la inseguridad se reduce a abordar los fenómenos delictivos a partir del estudio de la violencia en espacios públicos ignorando otro tipo de inseguridades que no necesariamente implican violencia pero afectan la calidad de vida de los ciudadanos (condiciones económicas, laborales, sanitarias, ambientales). La presente investigación lleva a cabo la revisión del concepto de seguridad en México desagregándolo en sus diversas dimensiones y unidades de análisis a partir de elementos teóricos que permitan una mejor delimitación, comprensión y utilización de los
mismos, tanto en el ámbito académico como en el institucional.
Security, as a social problem in Mexico, has grown exponentially positioning itself in the political agenda as one of the priorities of the state, constituting itself as one of the major issues to be resolved due to the increase of the activities of organized crime which have generated a climate of insecurity throughout the country. Public concern about the phenomenon of insecurity have had an impact on the image of institutions, democracy and governability. The policy of insecurity combat is reduced to addressing the criminal phenomena from the study of violence in public spaces ignoring other types of insecurities that do not necessarily implies violence but affect the quality of life of the citizens (economic, labor, health, environmental). The present investigation carries out the revision of the concept of security in Mexico, disaggregating it in its diverse dimensions and units of analysis from its theoretical elements that allows a better delimitation, understanding and use of them both in the academic and in the institutional sphere.
