Eficacia en la exaltación del espíritu marinero a bordo del velero Cuauhtémoc: modelación y análisis

Abstract

The Tall Ship Cuauhtémoc was conceived for the Exaltation of the Seafaring Spirit of the future leaders of the Mexican Navy, but this expression, being a motto and mission, although popular among the Institution’s personnel, is somewhat subjective, since there are no investigations that explain and deepen into its meaning, or else determine if trips aboard the tall ship are effective in obtaining the expected results. The goal of the study was to model and analyze the effectiveness in the Exaltation of the Sailor Spirit (EEM) on board, for which, the concept was equated with the so-called Sail Training; then the EEM Model was built and measured, whose transformation capacity is given by the change in the established constructs. Tools to do the measurements was applied in two phases, at the beginning and at the end of the MMXXI «Bicentennial of the Mexican Navy» Sail Training, complemented with a survey at the end. The results confirm a positive evolution between the first and second applications, which shows that, based on the definition of the Exaltation of the Seafaring Spirit, the experience obtained by complete a Sail Training aboard the B.E. Cuauhtémoc, effectively transforms the intimate character of the seafarer being, thanks to the significant strengthening of personal development, seafaring skills and social skills of each individual, as essential tools that allow them in the future to be competent people adapted to their environment, thus promoting the exercise of authentic and effective leadership.

El Buque Escuela Velero Cuauhtémoc fue concebido para la Exaltación del Espíritu Marinero de los futuros líderes de la Armada de México, pero esta expresión, siendo lema y misión, aunque popular entre el personal de la institución, es algo subjetivo, pues no existen investigaciones que, expliquen y profundicen en su significado, o bien, que determinen si realmente los viajes a bordo del velero son efectivos para obtener los resultados que se esperan. El objetivo del estudio fue modelar y analizar la eficacia en la Exaltación del Espíritu Marinero (EEM) a bordo, para lo cual, el concepto se equiparó con el llamado Sail Training, y a partir de esto, se construyó y midió el Modelo EEM, cuya capacidad de transformación está dada por el cambio en los constructos establecidos. El instrumento de medición se aplicó en dos fases, al inicio y al término del crucero de instrucción MMXXI: «Bicentenario de la Armada de México», complementándose con una encuesta de salida. Los resultados comprueban una evolución positiva entre la primera y segunda aplicación, lo que demuestra que, con base en la definición de la Exaltación del Espíritu Marinero, la experiencia obtenida al desarrollar un crucero de instrucción a bordo del B.E. «Cuauhtémoc», transforma eficazmente el carácter íntimo de ser marino, gracias al fortalecimiento significativo del desarrollo personal, de las habilidades marineras y de las habilidades sociales de cada individuo, como herramientas esenciales que les permitan en el futuro, ser personas competentes y adaptadas a su entorno, potenciando así el ejercicio de un auténtico y efectivo liderazgo.
